Now that summer is here and you feel like a city break why not combine a visit to Loutraki or the archaeological site of Heraion of Perachora (about 1 1/2 hour's drive from Athens) with a swim and fresh seafood, at the LINTO fish tavern at Lake Heraion (also known as Lake Vouliagmeni – Loutraki) beach.
In this idyllic spot with unobstructed views towards the sea and the surrounding mountains you’ll be able to sunbathe, swim or simply relax while enjoying the turquoise clear water and simple tasty food.
Personally, I always order the Greek village salad, the grilled or fried fresh calamari and the grilled octopus, which is outstanding and always impeccably grilled . . . . crisp, juicy and moist!
To be honest with you I haven’t tried many other items on the menu as I just can’t get enough of the tavern’s octopus . . . even if it's a bit pricey! I’ll leave it up to you to taste the tavern's other delicacies . . . . . and report back to me!!
Tip! It's always best to visit on a week-day as it can get crowded on the week-ends!
