If you are not into a romantic candlelit meal with your hubby then why don’t you surprise him, or other loved ones, with tempting waffles on Valentine’s Day!
My recipe is a family favorite and I never use sugar in the recipe which allows for lots of flexibility when it comes to the toppings . . . sweet or savory and is also perfect for kids!
Waffles are easy2make as long as you have a waffle iron. I normally make a whole batch that normally gives you 8 large waffles and when I don’t have company, I cut them in half or quarters and freeze whatever we don’t eat. This way, whenever I feel like a treat the only thing I need to do is pop a piece in the toaster and enjoy it with whatever topping I have handy . . . like this morning for breakfast in bed!
If you are serving it as a dessert or sweet treat for the kids I would recommend serving the waffles with ice-cream, sliced bananas and a warm chocolate sauce and if it’s for your one and only hubby or other . . . dip the strawberries in melted chocolate and serve with ice-cream or whipped cream.
For more serving options check out my blog post from March 2019 . . . and if you don’t have a waffle iron, just use this recipe and ideas to make scrumptious tasting pancakes that you can bake on pretty much any type of non-stick skillet you have.
Wishing you a Happy Valentine’s Day with lots and lots of love!
